Market entry advisory for Southeast Asia

We help brands decide whether, where and how to enter Southeast Asia, then line up the distributors and channels that carry the product to customers.

What we do

  • Opportunity and category sizing
  • Entry route: distributor, marketplace, licensee or own entity
  • Distributor and partner search, outreach and introductions
  • Pricing, margin structure and channel plan
  • Entity and on-the-ground setup guidance

What you get

  • A market entry document with a clear go or no-go
  • A shortlist of partners, already contacted
  • A first-year plan with budget and milestones

Good fit for consumer, sports and lifestyle brands taking their first step into Southeast Asia, or adding another market in the region.

Why entry plans go wrong in Southeast Asia

Southeast Asia is not one market. Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore differ in language, buying habits, platforms and import rules, and a plan that works in one often fails in the next.

Most failed launches share the same causes: a price that ignores duties and distributor margins, a partner chosen because they answered first, or a launch with no plan for creating demand once the stock lands. We work on those three things before anything is spent.

How it works

  1. Scope

A call about your product, target countries, budget and timeline, so the work answers the right question.

  2. Assess

Category size, competitors, price points and channels, from marketplace data and field visits.

  3. Choose the route

Distributor, marketplace, licensee or own entity, with the trade-offs for your product.

  4. Plan

Pricing, margins, partner shortlist and a first-year plan with budget and milestones.

  5. Introduce and launch

We contact the shortlisted partners, make introductions and support the first months on the ground.

Taking a new badminton brand from zero to 4% share in Vietnam

  • Vietnam
The brief
Launch a new Singapore-based badminton brand in Vietnam, starting with no distribution and no brand awareness.
What we did

The result
4% market share, up from zero, and USD 2.4 million in GMV within the first year.

Questions we are often asked

Which countries do you cover?

Our focus is Southeast Asia, with the deepest on-the-ground experience in Vietnam and Indonesia. We scope other markets in the region case by case.

Do you find distributors, or only advise?

Both. We build the shortlist, contact the candidates and make introductions. You decide who to sign.

What does it cost?

Fixed-scope projects are priced up front. Longer support runs as a monthly retainer. We quote after a short call about your product, market and timeline.

Can you help if we have already started selling?

Yes. Many briefs begin with a launch that has stalled. We review pricing, partners and channels and recommend what to change.
